Its main task was to ensure the protection and caring of the natural environment for future generations. The main resources being conserved in these case includes the water resources, the water catchment areas and the wildlife that depends on the natural resources for survival. Conservation involved different strategies that varied from involvement of the community in its practice and created awareness on the importance of wildlife conservation.The federation has been on the forefront in advocating the preservation of different resources such as rivers and bluffs along the course of different rivers (Leslie, 2013). Some of the major outspoken successes include the protection of some rivers such as the Alcovy, bluffs such as the Sp rewell bluff and some birds species such as the woodpecker (Picoides borealis). Further, the federation is pushing for important conservation legislation such as the protection and reinvestment Act (Leslie, 2013).The success of the Federation has largely been attributed to its involvement of sportsmen through activities such as hiking, bird-watching and other interesting activities that caught the attention of different individuals who enjoyed outdoor activities (Shores, 2010).
